The BC Healthcare Virtual Job Fair is a free, one-day, online event. This event is open to physicians, registered nurses and allied health professionals interested in exploring career opportunities in British Columbia, Canada.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from Health Match BC, regional health employers, and other provincial partners while learning about the employment, licensing, and immigration processes needed to make British Columbia, Canada your next home.

1. Who should attend this event?

We will have information and live representatives able to provide detailed information for the following professions:

  • Specialist Physicians* (including Anesthesiologists, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatrists, and Pediatricians)
  • Registered Nurses (including OR, Critical Care, ER, Acute Care, and Community Health)
  • Allied Health Providers (including PTs, OTs, Med Lab Techs, Med Rad Techs, and Clinical Pharmacists)

* If you are a Family Medicine Physician, we encourage you to find our booth at the Family Medicine Forum (November 4 – 7)

2. What is a ‘Virtual Career Fair’, and what can I expect by attending the British Columbia Virtual Job Fair on November 17?

Virtual career fairs have all of the same things that you would find if you attended an in-person career fair, but they take place entirely online. You can attend this live event from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever you feel most comfortable. Within our virtual Exhibit Hall you will find booths hosted live by representatives of Health Match BC, employers, and other provincial organizations. You will also have opportunities to watch videos, chat directly with representatives, and download helpful resources. Our virtual auditorium will have both live and pre-recorded sessions on a variety of topics such as immigration, licensing and registration, rural locuming, and other profession-specific content.

3. Is there anything I should do to prepare for my attendance at the BC Healthcare Virtual Job Fair?

Most important is to register so that you have a confirmed spot at the Career Fair. You may also wish to visit www.healthmatchbc.org to learn more about our available job opportunities, licensing eligibility and communities of interest. Otherwise, come prepared on November 17 with questions, curiosity, and stable wifi with good bandwidth!

We are hosting a series of webinars for Allied Health professionals, Registered Nursing, and Physicians, in advance of the career fair which you can register for here. These webinars will let you access some information ahead of the fair, and will also be posted on our website after the career fair is done.

6. I do not yet have a license to practice in Canada – is this event for me?

Our experienced consultants are here to support you whether you currently hold licensure in Canada or not. Our individualized approach will guide you through the licensing and registration process and help you make a seamless transition to your new life in British Columbia.
